Roulette Payouts

Payout is an expected amount of money the player can get regarding the roulette bet placed.

Payouts in the game of roulette as in any other gambling game depend on the probability of this or that number coming up. Single numbers (like Straight-up bet) provide very attractive payout of 35 to 1, but a straight-up number bet wins very rarely and the probabilities are very small. Other bets provide even money but are very likely to be winning ones and therefore are the ones you should go for.

Roulette payouts are the same for all online and land casinos. Let’s start with the payouts on inside bets. They are the highest because of the low winning probabilities. For example, if your Straight-up bet worth $100 wins, you will be paid out: 35 x $100= $3,500; but if you make Split or Street bet and win, the payout will be $1,700 and $1,100 correspondingly.

Inside Bets Payouts

Bet Quantity of numbers Payout
Straight-up 1 number 35-to-1
Split 2 numbers 17-to-1
Street 3 numbers 11-to-1
Corner (Square) 4 numbers 8-to-1
Five-number 5 numbers 6-to-1
Six Line 6 numbers 5-to-1

Outside bets have much lower payouts than the inside bets, but they are considered to be the most secure. Here the roulette payouts vary from 2-to-1 to 1-to-1 (which are also known as ‘even money’). So, if you place $100 and win any of outside bets you can get paid $200 or $100 in addition to the wagered amount that is also returned to the player.

Outside Bets Payouts

Bet Quantity of numbers Payout
Column 12 numbers 2-to-1
Dozen 12 numbers 2-to-1
Low 18 numbers 1-to-1
High 18 numbers 1-to-1
Red 18 numbers 1-to-1
Black 18 numbers 1-to-1
Even 18 numbers 1-to-1
Odd 18 numbers 1-to-1

So, this is the dependence of roulette payout size on the bet you place at the roulette table. As you see, the less number the bet covers, the higher payouts are.

At any roulette table the player is allowed to place as many bets as he wishes within the bankroll limits. Thus several bets of a player can be winning. In such situation the payouts are added. For example, you place $5 straight-up on 7, $5 on red, and $5 on first dozen and the ball lands on 7, you will be paid out:

($5+$5x35) + ($5+$5x1) + ($5+$5x2) = $205
35-to-1 on straight-up         even money on red             2-to-1 on dozen

Probably, the best option is to combine bets which means to place both inside and outside bets, because thus you have more chances to win than when you place just straight-up bets or the ones with high payouts. To play roulette wisely, no matter how lucky, it is better to follow roulette strategies and manage bankroll.
