These are some of the most famous roulette bets that actually happened and earned much publicity thanks to the amount of the win.

Some bets and wins in roulette are long remembered.
  • Year 1873 - Joseph Jaggers was the first one to make a biased wheel attack. His team included 6 English clerks that watched the wheels at a Monte Carlo casino and found one was biased. The attack they did brought them $325,000 which was then a fortune.
  • Summer - 1891, Charles Wells broke the bank of every casino table he played for several days. He was a part-time swindler and petty crook. There were even songs about him that were named "The Man That Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo." (Note: to break the bank means to win all the money at the table so that a black felt will cover the table till the bank is replenished).
  • Year - 2004, Ashley Revell is famous for selling all his possessions and bringing US$135,300 to the Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas. He put it all on "Red" and the ball landed on Red 7. The winner walked away with $270,600.
